The Financial Planning, Analysis & Reporting team’s mission is driving business excellence to Support Healthier Children. Our team is responsible for various aspects of FPA&R function including financial reporting, compensation planning & analysis, annual operating planning & budgeting process, multi-year financial forecasting, ministry funding, external reporting, financial and statistical data reporting to the ministry, benchmarking analysis, and the development of tools and reporting. Our team is dynamic, collaborative, and constantly seeking new ways to improve and grow. We value creativity, initiative, and a willingness to learn and adapt.
As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will play a critical role in advancing our financial planning and analysis processes. Reporting to the Sr. Manager of FPA&R, you will support multiple teams, including Compensation & Financial Reporting, Ministry Funding & External Reporting, and Planning & Analysis. You will not only support our existing functions but also actively seek opportunities to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. This role offers a unique chance to learn and contribute across various aspects of FP&A, providing you with broad exposure and development opportunities.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Recognized accounting designation or actively completing the final level (CPA, CMA, CA or equivalent) is required.
  • Critical thinking, strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proven track record of driving process improvements across teams.
  • Strong passion for process simplification and improvement.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Be highly adaptive to changing department needs, managing ad-hoc requests and assignments with agility and efficiency.
  • Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Adherence to confidentiality policy for sensitive financial and clinical information.
  • Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Demonstrated commitment and actions in advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion objectives.

Responsibilities:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Proactively Identify & Implement Process Improvements: Continuously seek out areas for improvement and lead initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Cross-Functional Learning & Exposure: Eagerly learn different aspects of FP&A beyond your current team structure, gaining a holistic understanding of our financial operations.
  • Support Multiple Teams: Collaborate with various teams including Compensation & Financial Reporting, Ministry Funding & External Reporting, and Planning & Analysis.
  • Job Shadowing & Collaboration: Pair up with different Senior Financial Analysts for 2-3 months, engaging in job shadowing to understand diverse roles and responsibilities.
  • Efficiency Initiatives: Collaborate with your peers to identify, develop, and implement efficiency initiatives, driving meaningful changes within the team and across the organization.
  • Analysis & Reporting: Conduct in-depth analysis of both financial & statistical data, prepare comprehensive reports, and present findings to senior management.
  • Planning & Budgeting: Contribute to the development of planning and budgeting processes, providing insights and recommendations to support decision-making.
  • Coverage & Flexibility: Provide coverage during team vacancies, ensuring seamless continuity and support across functions.
  • Ad-hoc Projects & Assignments: Support Sr. Manager FPA&R in various projects and assignments, including data quality projects, project management, documentation of processes & procedures, benchmarking analysis, etc.
