MINIMUM QUALIFICATION, SKILL AND/OR COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS
Education Required
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required; Finance or Accounting degree preferred; Master’s degree and/or professional designation (CPA) preferred
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in finance and/or accounting roles
Technical Knowledge
- Previous experience in similar role
- Advanced level use of Excel and other Office applications
- Strong data management skills
- Experience of Power BI desirable
- Good knowledge of Oracle and Hyperion is preferred
Skills
- Strong business acumen and commercial understanding
- Business partner support and continuous improvement experience preferred
- Experience working across the business functions and, in particular, sales and marketing teams
- Ability to work across systems and compiling business and financial analysis
- Advanced forecasting, planning and analysis experience
- Demonstrated experience of advance modelling skills
- Detail-oriented, organised, and self-motivated
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Able to present finance information to non-finance stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
POSITION PURPOSE
- Reporting to the Head of Finance – CANADA
The Senior Financial Analyst is to work with the HoF in providing support to commercial leaders across the region on forecast, actuals and performance reporting on sales, margin and operating income. This also requires close interaction with Marketing, Contract Marketing and Sales teams.
Until our systems and processes are transitioned (following the acquisition of Smiths Medical by ICU Medical), data collection and compilation will require working across multiple systems. This role will be critical in extraction, compilation and providing analytical support where cross systems access may not be available to all stakeholders.
The role will be fundamental in facilitating across the region the planning and forecasting processes which will include the annual operating plan and quarterly forecasts.
The commercial support of this role is essential and extends beyond the structured reporting and processes. Working with the HoF to ensure that the business leaders are equipped to make the right commercial decisions for the company by supporting variance analysis, KPI monitoring, and flex forecasting based on risk and opportunities.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Preparation of monthly financial reporting packages including revenue and margin analysis
- Monthly P&L variance analysis of actual results versus benchmark
- Development and preparation of quarterly forecasts, annual operating plan and long-range plan
- Preparation of weekly sales performance reports and other financial reports such as customers and sales reps
- Pricing variance analysis
- Provide structured data to support strategy and pricing initiatives building ad hoc financial
reports and models to aid in performance evaluation for various key business metrics
- Insightful financial analysis providing recommendations and decision support
- Manage month end close process including partnering with accounting during month end close to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting of results
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement by introducing new analytical tools and
metrics and automating repeatable processes
- Refine financial and operating statistics to drive consistent performance and accountability –
price vs. volume/mix, customer segmentation, install base, utilization, product category
trending, broader market analysis and correlation
- Support cross functional communication with operations, marketing and supply chain to ensure coordination across departments – keeping financial and operational plan well links
- Assist in the consolidation and monitoring of annual sales targets
- Ad hoc projects and reports preparation as required including integration
