Position Title: Senior IT Financial Analyst
Reports To: Manager, IT Asset, Financial, and Vendor Management
Department: IT Infrastructure
Term: Temporary Full-Time – Eighteen (18) Month Contract
Work Arrangements: This is a hybrid role. You will work in our office in Waterloo, ON a minimum of two (2) assigned, consecutive days every other week, plus a fifth (5th) assigned day per month. You are welcome to work from the office more than the minimum requirement and there may be some roles that are required to work in our office more than the minimum requirement.
The Opportunity: Equitable is growing! We are looking to add a Senior IT Financial Analyst to our IT Infrastructure team! The Senior IT Financial Analyst is responsible for the financial initiatives and insights of all IT expenses throughout the organization.

Responsibilities:
- Support the implementation of financial reporting changes and update accounting policies to ensure the Company is compliant with IFRS, OSFI, CLHIA and other regulations including the implementation of new accounting standards
- Prepare and analyze IT specific financial reports for Board and Management purposes
- Liaise with business areas regarding complex accounting and/or financial reporting issues/questions
- Able to interpret, illustrate and communicate financial information to others
- Apply business knowledge and new concepts to analyze problems and make recommendations
- Ensure robust controls exist over the accounting tied to business activities
- Participate in any system change or project that impacts business transactions or accounting
- Develop and deliver accounting models and financial information
- Deliver expense and budgeting information to appropriate stakeholders
- Ensure documentation of procedures for account reconciliation and internal controls is prepared and maintained to reduce operational risk
- Automate and improve various processes as required to reduce risk and improve efficiency
- Teach, train and mentor stakeholders on key processes and procedures
- Preparation and analysis of the financial reporting package including line of business commentary
- Develop financial reporting benchmarks against peers and other sources (e.g. Gartner)
- Co-ordinate all aspects of the annual IT business plan process (working closely with all accountable IT Management and financial stakeholders)
- Coordinate / liaise IT budgets with other divisional stakeholders
- Maintain and enhance the MIS reporting processes, ensure accuracy of actual and plan information and distribute to management as needed
- Create and maintain robust IT accounting policies and procedures
- Divisional oversight and implementation of new accounting standards and financial reporting updates
- Identify and implement improvements to our finance processes
- Improve communication between the various areas involved in finance processes
- Provide a forum to discuss issues, new developments, train and educate those involved in finance processes
- Act as a backup to other ITAFVM staff to help with purchasing and other accounting-related duties
