Description:

GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION

Performs various cost accounting functions such as analyzing cost record to ascertain distribution of costs, prepares budgets, analyzes budget deviation, and monitoring financial statements, including proposing adjustments. Collects and prepares cost data and analyzes fiscal accounting and related systems, regulatory submission, fiscal presentations, and financial feasibility studies. Prepares various reports.Â

EDUCATION

  • Master’s degree in Accounting required or
  • related field with at least five (5) years experience in an accounting department required

EXPERIENCE

  • 8-10 years Accounting related experience may be substituted for required education at the minimum level of bs in accounting) Â required and
  • Accounting experience in a healthcare environment preferred and

Responsibilities:

  • Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations.
  • Maintains general ledgers for hospital operations.
  • Reconciles daily and/or monthly general ledger accounts according to assigned area(s) of functionality.
  • Prepares journal entries daily according to assigned area(s) of functionality.
  • Assists with the compilation of worksheets and reconciliations for auditors according to assigned area(s) of functionality.
  • Maintains the accounting system according to assigned area(s) of functionality.
  • Proposes accrual entries as needed.
  • Continually monitors area of responsibility in assigned functionality(s) for improvements and efficiency.
  • Gathers and researches information as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned and maintains requirement of career ladder.
