Description:

Coordinates the monthly financial and statistical accounting transactions and processes, completes ongoing
analytical review, adheres to deadlines, prepares reports as needed. Manages Finance clerical staff in the
Northern Health Region (NHR). Exercises initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities
and assigning workloads.
The incumbent must fulfill the requirements of the Criminal Records/Vulnerable Person, Child Abuse Registry
check and Adult Abuse Registry check, and adhere to all Northern Health Region policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Grade 12 education or equivalent
  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration Diploma/Degree (Accounting designation)

preferred (combinations of education and experience may be considered)

  • Valid Manitoba Class V driver’s license, access to a vehicle, and willingness to travel the region year-

round

  • Five (5) years’ finance office experience (i.e. accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general

ledger, budget preparation, reconciliation, and variance analysis

  • Two (2) years’ supervisory/management experience
  • Thorough knowledge of Windows based programs (Microsoft Word, Outlook) and Internet
  • Experience with computerized accounting systems, preferably Great Plains
  • Experience with more complex functions of Excel spreadsheets
  • Successful candidate subject to provide security checks in accordance with Security Checks for
