POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Senior Financial Analyst, Planning and Analysis executes, administers and delivers financial analysis and other required financial reporting within the Corporate Finance & Planning and Analysis department supporting financial planning, budgeting , forecasting processes in addition to contributing subject matter expertise to financial policy and strategic management decisions made throughout the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Undergraduate business degree with a professional accounting designation (CA, CGA or CMA ) or MBA. CA preferred.
  • 5-7 years of progressive experience in accounting, financial planning, analysis and management /financial reporting
  • Exposure to integrated ERP systems; planning and reporting modules; data extraction
  • Driving process improvement and automation in the planning, analysis and management reporting areas; managing projects; Microsoft Office; financial services experience

Responsibilities:

  • Prepares and delivers financial reports and statements with varying time lines and reporting requirements including financial plans, forecasts, variance analysis, budgets and management reports.
  • Conducts standard and specialized analysis in support of all relevant financial reports, statements and reporting requirements, primarily by using spreadsheet templates, generally accepted review procedures or through customized development of reporting formats and content.
  • Initiates, issues, calculates and delivers key financial measures and tools throughout the organization, on both a scheduled and ad-hoc basis, including balance sheets, cash flow, regulatory ratios, finance templates (forecast, budgeting, etc.), performance indicators and historical data.
  • Establishes the operational delivery, as primary or lead operational resource, of relevant financial data and analytical input to various financial packages distributed internally as well as supporting or initiating policy & assumption guidelines for annual planning and procedural enhancements (within Finance).
  • Implements, maintains and enhances management reporting formats, controls and processes, in consideration of internal, regulatory and compliance requirements (i.e. EUC, Shareholders, Board, etc.)
  • Interacts frequently with internal CIBC Mellon groups, parent organizations and individuals, as the primary subject matter expert, to provide relevant financial data and technical guidance, especially with regard to management reporting requirements.
  • Advises on the development and maintenance of financial-based management information systems and reporting tools from a subject matter expert perspective.
