Description:
Fengate is seeking a highly motivated Senior Financial Analyst to support the launch and ongoing management of the Fengate Private Markets Fund (the Fund), a new investment product scheduled for launch at the end of 2024. The Fund represents a new strategic initiative, investing across Fengate’s active portfolios in Infrastructure, Real Estate, and Private Equity. This is an exceptional opportunity for an individual looking to deepen their expertise across diverse asset classes and contribute to the growth of the company.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in overseeing fund operations, performing financial analysis, maintaining fund models, and contributing to comprehensive reporting efforts. This role will interact closely with the senior leadership team, portfolio managers, fund operations teams, investor relations team, tax team, the fund administrator, and external investors.
The successful candidate will be a self-starter that enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, has a strong commitment to deadlines and the team, is detail and process oriented with a high sense of ownership in their work, and has a superior finance/accounting foundation.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS

- Undergraduate degree in accounting or a related technical discipline
- CPA, or near completion of designated, with a minimum of 3 years of experience
- Strong attention to detail.
- Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to manage workload and drive professional development.
- Excellent analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to high-quality standards with a continuous drive to explore new approaches, insights, and presentation methods.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; financial modelling experience or training would be an asset.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks with strict deadlines while working collaboratively within a team.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize and manage key fund operations, including capital activities (capital calls and distributions), credit facilities, investor and investment closings, fund flows, investor onboarding, and redemptions.
- Plan and monitor liquidity requirements to ensure the Fund meets operational and financial needs.
- Ensure compliance with governing fund documents and credit facility agreements.
- Maintain and update fund performance models.
- Coordinate with business units such as Infrastructure, Real Estate and Private Equity to ensure seamless fund operations.
- Collaborate with the Investor Relations team to respond to investor inquiries and assist with fundraising initiatives.
- Prepare quarterly investor and management reports.
- Liaise with the tax team and advisors to manage tax filings and compliance with the U.S. and Canadian tax authorities.
- Oversee the fund’s external administrator to ensure accuracy and completeness of accounting records and financial reports.
- Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis to support the Private Markets Fund team and broader Fengate team, including asset management, legal, investments, etc.
- Contribute innovative ideas to develop best in class processes and procedures.
