This position focuses on Supply Chain and Delivery to Customer, providing accounting controls, P&L management for Direct fulfillment + 182 Store deliveries (plan/forecast/month end reporting), and analytics to support and drive the One Supply Chain Strategy at The Home Depot, Canada
EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
- Internal candidates: please inform your direct leader prior to applying
- 2 to 4 years of Financial/Accounting experience including budgeting, forecasting, month-end/quarter-end/year-end accounting, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Technical competency with systems such as SAP, GBQ, Tableau & Alteryx. Highly proficient in MS Excel is required; experience in database and large data reporting tools are a strong asset.
- Self-starter, efficient, organized, and able to produce high quality work often with tight timelines and multiple priorities.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, accuracy, and integrity of financial reporting.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders & leadership
Responsibilities:
- Develop extensive knowledge and understanding of the home/store and Appliance delivery network, accounting process, KPIs, operational and business initiatives and overall strategy
- Act as independent mini-CFO, managing financials for multiple delivery assets from store including Store Fleet, Car/Van, Value Car & Vendor Direct Appliances
- Critical role in supporting the One Supply Chain strategy, Pro fulfillment, MDO network & delivery carrier negotiations to support same day and next day delivery
- Build & cultivate relationships in a 360 environment, with respective business partners, delivery operations, corporate accounting (FP&A), Events Marketing, Store Operations Finance and others as needed.
- Drive delivery financial KPI’s around cost/customer requirements and make recommendations to business to deliver on financial commitments
- Perform month end accounting including determining accruals, prior period accruals, reconciliations, variance analysis and all related financial reporting.
- Ad hoc analytics for business decision support; make recommendations that will result in positive financial results or better customer service.
- Manage and lead weekly/monthly/quarterly forecast process, present Risks and Opportunities to business partners and leadership. Liaise with FP&A to communicate expense forecast weekly.
- Prepare and take ownership of bi-annual budget/planning. Work with business partners to manage & have influence on financial metrics.
- Analyze information and develop reports to drive the business, greater expense control and/or delivery operations.
- Financial reporting focusing on analysis/creating new and supplemental reporting methods to aid management in proactive problem solving.
- Analytically driven with an aptitude to work with large data sets to drive areas of automation & business insight/reasoning.
