Position Summary:
The Senior Financial Data Analyst will be a key member of the Finance Leadership team and provides direct support to the CFO, the controller, and the director of the Business Office. The ideal candidate must be detail-oriented and possessing excellent analytical and technical skills. This individual will need to have a strong understanding of business processes, profit/cost center operations and reporting, and know how to read and interpret financial statements and reports. This person will be responsible for proper selection, integration, and analysis of data from a variety of sources. Must have proven ability to be able to convert mounds of data into useable/meaningful succinct managerial information to be acted upon. Particular emphasis of analysis will relate to the Clinic’s revenue/collection cycle as well as the Clinic’s ancillaries.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Through analytical research/data mining, conducts analytical studies, prepares reports that include revenue/cost comparative financial data, including development of trend models and reports
- Development of reports to be included in automated data dashboards at the clinic, department, and physician levels
- Participates/creates models to automate and report key metrics, with capability to “data dive” into details to determine causes of variances
- Performs benchmark functions to determine if Clinic metrics are above or below industry benchmarks
- Develops process for the monthly monitoring of revenues and costs, compared to projections, for the Clinic’s Imaging Center, Cancer Center, Surgery Center, Lab, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy Center, and Wellness Center ancillaries, and works with administrators to determine causes for variances from projections
- Assists in performing due diligence analysis on practices looking to join the Revere Health system
- Management and financial report standardization and streamlining
- Supports the technical processes needed to keep the Clinic’s EDI (electronic data interchange) purchasing and payment process working with little or no downtime
- Ad hoc and custom data mining and data manipulation and analysis
- Supports finance and administrative team members in providing custom data extracts as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field, such as accounting, finance, computer science, statistics, healthcare administration
- 3 to 5 years [or more] experience in quantitative business analysis and statistical modeling (preferably healthcare related)
- Excellent oral/written communication skills and presentation skills
- Demonstrated analytical abilities to aid in problem solving, decision making, with ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong financial modeling expertise, including knowledge of analytical tools, business intelligence tools and statistical packages
- Knowledge of database management and report writing
- Self-starter with strong, proactive work ethic
- Understanding of relational and dimensional data models
- Ability to work effectively on a team
- Advanced skills in MS-SQL and Excel
- Experience with general ledger systems and charts of accounts, particularly Great Plains, and Management Reporter
