Description:
Centurion Consulting Group is looking for a Senior Financial Reporting Consultant for our Federal Government client. This is a long-term (4+ years) role. It is Hybrid – 2-3 days per week in the DC office.
Required Skills:
Candidate must have direct and recent experience with financial statements preparation, reviews, performing accounting reconciliations, and preparing fluctuation analysis. Recent experience performing financial reporting functions must be within the last 3 years. Understanding of Federal Financial Statements Preparation and able to prepare financial statements and footnotes independently.
Strong understanding of USSGL posting logic, GL account relationships, and edits
Proven experience with written communication, especially fluctuation analysis narratives
Ability to research GL activity to determine root cause of variances
Proficient in using Microsoft Excel
Strong understanding of A-136 and Federal Accounting Standards
Preferred Skills:
Experience with Momentum Financial Management System, CPA or CGFM
Day-to-day Responsibilities:
Support a team delivering financial reporting capabilities.
Duties include: performing analyses to validate GTAS reported budgetary and proprietary balances; performing edit checks and tie point analysis; support review, research and remediation of differences related to USSGL account balances, Treasury tie-points, and abnormal balances; perform fluctuation analysis to identify significant changes in account balance; develop and implement a quality assurance checklist to support preparation of Financial Statements, Disclosures, and GTAS submission; Design quality assurance review process for GTAS reported balances and Financial Statements; support training and knowledge transfer for newly developed reports and processes; support compilation of federal financial statements and disclosures.
