ABOUT THE POSITION:
We are looking for a Senior Flight Physics Engineer who specializes in one or more of the following fields: Aircraft Loads, Weight & Balance or Aircraft Performance and provides Technical support and responsibility throughout the phases, from design to certification.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development of weight, balance, and mass properties data for new air vehicle development.
- Focal point for loads-related subjects, coordinating activities with contractors along with developing in house tools and methods.
- Develop current and forecast weight, balance, and mass properties data (incl. accounting systems).
- Assessment of aircraft mass and center of gravity.
- Preparation of Mass Data Bank for Loads/Handling Qualities.
- Participation in the development of new tools and methods for Loads.
- Development/modifications of existing company model to support generation of load cases.
- Computation/analysis of static and dynamic (aeroelasticity) loads.
- Calculation of Hinge Moments.
- Conduct general evaluations related to aircraft performance (Payload x Range, field lengths for takeoff and landing, climb analyses etc).
- Development of methods for estimating aircraft performance for electric aircraft.
- Support flight tests and preparation of tools for such.
- Create formal documentation to include performance requirements, design, test, and validation/data substantiation reports.Failure Hazard Analyses focusing on performance and/or loads.
