Senior Food Clerk-Northlands Food Store

Reporting to the Grocery Manager, the Senior Food Clerk is responsible for delivering world-class customer service and providing leadership to grocery clerks. Duties include opening and closing the store, ordering, and stocking grocery merchandise, merchandising, and displaying packaged products, receiving, and unloading the truck, and maintaining department cleanliness and housekeeping standards.

Qualifications : Candidates must possess 1-2 years of previous Grocery Department. Retail experience is an asset. Applicants must have a High School diploma or equivalent; or an acceptable combination of education and experience.

• Able to lift to 50 lbs. daily
• Excellent internal and external customer service skills
• High level of integrity and work ethic
• Ability to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
• Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing
• High flexibility with strong interpersonal skills
• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn
• Effective leadership skills, with a strong focus on employee engagement
