KEY REQUIREMENTS:

• Proven experience in delivering user interface web platforms, including internal tools and customer-facing products.
• Deep understanding of front-end technologies, such as HTML, CSS3, JavaScript, TypeScript, and OOD.
• Minimum of 5 years experience with React (including React Query and React Router) and other comparable libraries and frameworks like Hooks, Angular/Vue.js, and Styled Components.
• Exposure to Nx, Azure DevOps, Node.js, Storybook, Jest, React Testing Library, Figma, Styled Components is desirable.
• Broader experience in Front-end Architectural Design, REST API Development, Pattern Libraries, Responsive Design, W3C Compliance, WCAG Conformance, Inclusive, Semantics, Agile Methodology, CI/CD, UX, Prototyping, mono-repo / micro-front end / microservices is also desirable.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective team collaboration.
• Experience in providing leadership and mentoring to fellow Front-end Engineers.
• Proficiency in identifying issues and implementing effective solutions.
• Strong foundation in both technical theory and practical application.
• Experience in creating comprehensive support and technical documentation.
• Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively and meet tight deadlines.
• Experience working within Agile teams.

ROLE OVERVIEW:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Front-end Engineer to join our dynamic technology team.
This role focuses on the technical delivery of user interfaces for JATO’s web-based software, encompassing both internal tools and customer-facing products.
In this prole, you will champion best practices in front-end engineering, driving continuous improvement. Additionally, you will provide leadership and mentorship to fellow Front-end Engineers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Deliver intuitive, accessible, consistent, performant and well-tested internal tools, customer facing products and underlying services.
• Focus on front-end development deliverables, with close collaboration with Back-end development and underlying services teams.
• Liaise with Design Team to develop and maintain a custom UI component library.
• Maintain a modern technology stack and modern development techniques.
• Work closely with other Senior Developers and Vertical Leads to support project deliverables.
• Align with the team on technical quality, standards, guidance and process, whilst striving for continuous improvement.
• Adoption of agile methodologies.
• Collaborate with Development colleagues, Product Management, Delivery, Security, Support and Operations throughout the full software development lifecycle.
• Engage with customer focused research and usability testing.
• Provide adequate documentation to both the team and the business for the products and services delivered.
• Take ownership for front-end deliverables within an assigned product vertical, and accountability for the deliverables of more junior front-end developers within that vertical; providing mentorship where applicable.
