Job Description
MLSE Digital Labs is seeking a highly motivated Senior Frontend Engineer to join the Digital Labs team. This individual will be primarily working on the development and management of applications and will be reporting to the Engineering Manager for Applications.
In MLSE Digital Labs, on the Technology and Digital team, we strive to adhere to our core values below. The candidate would prove the ability to demonstrate, understand, and apply the core values.

Position Type: Contractor

  • Develop and deploy application solutions using modern DevOps practices and security standards.
  • Utilize programming language skills to code the required data transformations.
  • Develop the test automation solutions for application testing.
  • Establish standards and maintain a department-wide body of knowledge on engineering.
  • Participates in planning, definition, and high-level design of the solution and exploration of solution alternatives.
  • Partners with other teams like infrastructure and application engineering to define metadata layers, technical strategy, and efficient integration within existing landscape.
  • Provides high-level sizing estimates of new development work.

  • Hardworking advocate of security standard methodologies and micro-service architecture.
  • Eager to learn and build both technical and analytical skills.
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently and balance multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Provides input into the ongoing improvement of data integration layer based on standard integration methodologies and approaches.
  • Astute on new and emerging technologies and technical approaches.
  • Knowledge of software engineering practices for SDLC, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies.
  • Proven ability to take a project from scoping requirements through to actual launch of project.
  • Proven track record to develop new approaches to complex design problems.
  • Ability to prioritize, track and handle work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience using source control technology such as GitHub.
  • Comfortable working with Design tools for handoffs like Figma, Invision, Adobe XD
  • Strong Software Engineering experience with proficiency in JavaScript/Typescript
  • Experience with using at least one of the following frameworks:
  • React
  • Redux Saga
  • ExpressJS
  • Competent understanding of RESTful, SOAP, and GraphQL APIs.
  • Experience with working with streaming technologies like Websockets.
  • Proficiency in crafting and deploying systems in AWS.
  • CI/CD orchestration tools such as GitHub Actions.
