The Opportunity
The Academic & Student Experience department at Keyano College is currently seeking a full time Senior Functional Analyst. the areas of project management, resource planning, user support, business process review and development, system functionality, system integration in collaboration with the IT department, and process to support and improve data integrity.
Note: this is not a remote or hybrid work opportunity, you will be required to work on campus and relocate to Fort McMurray, AB.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Gather user requirements from stakeholders to implement technology solutions supporting business processes and the student experience.
  • Apply communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills for technology decisions and recommendations on existing and new systems.
  • Lead system updates and upgrades in collaboration with IT.
  • Ensure data integrity and integration across various systems to prevent negative impacts on the institution.
  • Provide support for technical issues within the Office of the Registrar and Institutional Research systems.
  • Review and document current system and business processes, establish business requirements, and identify new processes aligned with functional area goals.
  • Coordinate end-user training, documentation, and involve stakeholders across departments as needed.
  • Plan, schedule, and track project timelines, milestones, and deliverables, ensuring effective communication with team members and stakeholders.
  • Develop best practices and tools for project execution, conduct project post-mortems, and create recommendation reports for continuous improvement.
  • Forecast resource needs for proposed projects and assess the need for additional staff or consultants.
  • Ensure all processes are designed from a student experience perspective.
  • Participate with college leadership in articulating new project ideas.
  • Provide reporting on project progress, health, risks, and ongoing challenges.
  • Attend steering committee meetings as necessary.
  • Design processes, queries, and reports to maintain data integrity.

Qualifications

  • University degree or College Diploma in the field of computer science, Information Technology, and/or project management, with minimum 5 years’ equivalent work experience.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Experience with programming languages and principles.
  • Specific knowledge of MS Office.
  • Strong understanding of project, portfolio, OCM, and Agile techniques.
  • Knowledge of PowerCampus, Self-Service, Infosilem, and data warehouse and CRM products considered an asset.
