Description:
GOAL has an excellent opportunity for an experienced fundraising professional to join our fundraising team on a 12-month maternity cover contract. We are keen to hear from individuals with a background in public fundraising, corporate partnerships, management and team development who want to work for a progressive, purpose driven organisation.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Significant experience in a similar senior fundraising and/or corporate partnership/events role ideally with an INGO or similar non-profit organisation
- Proven background of delivering on financial targets and generating new revenue streams
- Strong leadership, communication, team working and influencing skills;
- Excellent relationship management skills with experience in account/ donor management;
- Excellent presentation and organisational skills with strong business acumen
Desirable
- Knowledge, experience or interest in international development and humanitarian issues.
- Willingness to travel to and host corporate supporters in GOAL’s programme countries
- An understanding of the networks within the not-for-profit sector and CSR space
- Experience in the NFP sector or in a CSR related role

Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Director of Development and Communications (Director of D&C) the Senior Fundraising Manager (Partnerships and Events) plays an integral role in leading GOAL’s public fundraising team in Ireland, the successful candidate will oversee the delivery and growth of GOAL’s Corporate, Community and Events income streams. This includes project management of major fundraising events such as GOAL Mile and Jersey Day, and the stewardship of key corporate supporters and relationships.
The Senior Fundraising Manager will lead on identifying, engaging and recruiting new supporters to generate sustainable income and grow GOAL’s network of volunteers and donors around Ireland and beyond. Acknowledging that our lives are increasingly digital, this role also includes the development of GOAL’s digital fundraising and supporter engagement strategies and initiatives.
Please note this role is offered as a 12-month maternity contract. GOAL offers staff flexible working with our hybrid model, we require our HQ employees to work 2 days per week from our office in Dun Laoghaire, Dublin
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Events and Community Fundraising
- Achieve ambitious income targets through strategic management of GOAL fundraising events.
- Develop and evolve GOAL’s Fundraising Event portfolio to achieve a balanced mix of established and growing events that meet the needs of and maximise income from our target audiences.
- Drive the integration of digital into GOAL’s Fundraising Events to maximise income, grow participation and build lasting relationships with supporters
- Lead on the development and growth of GOAL’s Community Fundraising programme, establishing strategies to engage, recruit and retain new fundraisers across different events and campaigns.
- Define and operationalise GOAL’s emergency community fundraising approach, leveraging GOAL’s network of volunteers and fundraisers to raise funds in the event of sudden humanitarian crises.
- Develop and coach team members to build skills around donor engagement, relationship building and new business and supporter development.
Corporate Partnerships and Fundraising
- Develop and deliver GOAL’s Corporate Partnerships programme to achieve ambitious income targets.
- Provide leadership and direction to the Corporate Partnerships Manager, with a focus on securing new major partnerships that deliver significant financial and non-financial support to GOAL.
- Work closely with GOAL Corporate Partners, developing relationships with key staff, building trust, maximising income and retaining partners for multiple years.
- Develop and establish a commercially orientated sales approach to new business development within the Corporate Partnerships Programme.
Strategy and Organisational Contribution
- Support the Director of D&C with the ongoing management of internal strategy, in particular GOAL’s Target Operating Model process.
- Support with ongoing engagement and management of the Fundraising and Communications Advisory Board. This will involve the development of periodic reports and presentations
- Represent the Fundraising Team at cross departmental meetings and forums, sharing key information and updates from across the function
Digital
- Assist with developing GOAL’s overall digital fundraising strategy, identifying areas of opportunity, growth and best practise and helping to set KPIs and other metrics to assess performance.
- Provide strategic guidance on the use of external digital suppliers and agencies for all fundraising campaigns
- Act as a thought leader with the Fundraising Team around digital trends, strategies, innovations and opportunities, assessing commercial opportunities (e.g. new platforms, services) where required.
People Management
- Effectively manage (3 direct and 2 indirect) reports to successfully deliver on their areas of accountability and fundraising targets.
- Provide coaching and mentorship to support team performance and longer-term growth and development.
- Utilise GOAL’s performance management and develop cycle, effectively setting objectives, monitoring progress and providing frequent feedback and guidance to support team development.
