We are recruiting to fill the position below:

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • The Senior General Manager, Mechanical is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing all mechanical operations within the Dangote Cement Group.
  • This position entails developing maintenance strategies, managing mechanical systems, and ensuring adherence to safety and operational standards across all facilities.
  • The role demands a strategic thinker who can lead a team while also being hands-on in solving complex mechanical issues.

REQUIREMENTS

The following skills and qualifications are required for the position of Senior General Manager, Mechanical:

  • B.Sc. / B.Eng. / HND in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, tools, and maintenance practices.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Proficient in project management and budget administration.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Minimum of 26 years of experience in mechanical maintenance and engineering within an industrial setting, with at least 15 years in a managerial role.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and practices in mechanical operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive mechanical maintenance programs
  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of mechanical systems and equipment
  • Manage and lead a team of mechanical engineers and technicians
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of mechanical systems and equipment
  • Evaluate the need for upgrades and new machinery
  • Develop and manage the mechanical maintenance budget
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
  • Monitor performance metrics and optimize operational efficiency
  • Collaborate with other departments to align mechanical operations with overall business goals
  • Provide technical expertise and support on mechanical issues across the organization.
