REQUIREMENTS

You will have extensive experience with/in:

  • operating in the field of hydrographic, geological and geophysical marine surveys
  • Geophysical Data acquisition and post processing.
  • “Party Chief’ aboard vessels.
  • AUV geological/geophysical position within the Subsea or Offshore environment.
  • MBES data processing, interpretation, reporting, GIS and charting systems (desirable)
  • operating Inspection systems

Other Requirements :

  • Meet IMCA Guideline C004 Rev3.1 Job Category S33 for Senior Marine Geophysicist.
  • Degree in Bsc. Or MSc in Marine geology / Sedimentology and Geophysics
  • Have registration with a recognised professional organisation (not essential)
  • Hold a CSWIP 3.4U Certificate (not essential)
  • Have operated marine geophysical seabed mapping systems that provide bathymetric data, seabed classification and seismic profiling information such as MBES, SSS, SBP, MAG
  • Be highly skilled with Geophysical software, CAD,GIS and Data management.
  • Be able to Multitask operation and roles
  • Be willing to work offshore away from home as required.

Responsibilities:

We offer an exciting opportunity as a Senior Geophysicist in our Survey & Inspection Department in a fast changing, dynamic industry - and plenty of opportunity to grow, apply your knowledge, skills and experience in DOF’s core activities.
As a Senior Geophysicist you will undertake projects which includes, but is not limited to, analogue seismic site surveys, pipe route surveys, pipeline freespan assessment surveys, AUV and ROV inspection of Subsea pipeline and other assets, Seabed Hazards and Debris Surveys, shallow gas digital seismic site surveys, fibre optic / general cable burial surveys, AUV and ROV Geophysical Survey for clients in Australia and overseas. Your will also assist to process MBES data, produce Charts an GIS database delivered to clients in a professional, effective and timely manner, within budgets and deadlines.
