Description:

ABOUT BG&E

BG&E is an innovative, employee-owned consulting engineering business. Our team of more than 700 highly skilled people, in 15 offices across the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, and the Middle East, design and deliver engineering solutions for clients in the Property, Transport, Ports and Marine, Water, Renewables and Defence sectors.
We collaborate with leading contractors, developers, architects, planners, financiers and government agencies, to create projects that make a difference to people’s lives.

Responsibilities:

Our London office is looking for a Senior/Associate Geotechnical Engineer to form a key part of a growing geotechnical team. You will work with the Geotechnics Lead to support and grow the team, working closely with the other office disciplines of structural, civil, infrastructure and bridge engineering as well as independent geotechnical consultancy.
As such, the nature and type of work will be varied, ranging from the design of foundations and earth structures for temporary works through to the integrated design of deep basements and foundation solutions for tall buildings. Whilst the majority of our work is UK-based, we are an international practice and often work in other geographies. Knowledge and experience of geotechnical work in a more global context would be welcome.

The role will include responsibilities including:

  • Developing effective geotechnical design solutions for a range of different scenarios and sectors.
  • Independently drafting reports, specifications, testing regimes, and preparing site investigations.
  • Independently drafting proposals with attention to the commercial aspects involved in quoting projects.
  • Managing projects from inception, including budgeting, resourcing, revenue recognition and invoicing.
  • Confidently working with external partners and clients.
