MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Education Requirements:
- Master’s Degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical with an emphasis in control systems
- 3+ years of hands-on experience integrating software into aircraft systems
Technical Requirements:
- Experience using MATLAB and Simulink
- Experience with CIFER and STITCH
General experience in C/C++, Python, Bash
Additional Requirements:
- Passion for solving complex problems with little supervision in a fast-moving team.
- Desire to learn new concepts/methods and collaborate with a team that has a diversity of skills.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced, highly collaborative, frequently changing, and sometimes ambiguous environment.
Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills with demonstrated ability to collaborate across multiple teams.
Travel Requirements
Must be willing to travel as projects requires. Estimated average travel is once every other month for between 2 days up to 1 week. (~20%)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Education Requirements:
- PhD in Electrical, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with an emphasis on dynamics and control
- 5+ years of hands-on experience integrating software into aircraft systems
Technical Requirements:
- Experience with Adaptive Controls
- Experience with Control Allocation
- Experience with state space methods and transfer function methods.
- Knowledge of frequency and time domain control methods.
- Knowledge of aircraft flight mechanics
- Experience with stability analysis and robustness analysis
- Comfortable with linear algebra and its application to control systems
- 2+ years of hands-on experience integrating software into robotic systems.
- Experience integrating autonomy/robotics products onto embedded compute modules such as: NVIDIA Jetson, Modal AI VOXL, Raspberry Pi
- Experience integrating autonomy/robotics products with Pixhawk autopilots
- Familiarity with software-in-the-loop (SIL) and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) development and testing.
- Experience with ground and flight testing of aerospace vehicles.
- Experience working projects related to national security for one or more government agencies.
Interdisciplinary background, with evidence of continual learning.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $165,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $180,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. EpiSci is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Responsibilities:
- Provide modelling support using software such as CIFER and STITCH with MathWorks products
- Provide simulation support integrating models and tuning simulations for use in autonomy applications
- Flight test support, data reduction and verification
- Design control system software that allows EpiSci’s autonomy software to interface with a wide range of vehicles, both crewed and uncrewed
- Integrate software that operates on real autonomous aircraft systems including F16 fighter jets, group 1-5 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), as well as simulated models and more to accomplish tactical military missions
- Collaborate with autonomy engineers to integrate production C++ software
- Integrate embedded compute with UAS autopilot(s) such as Pixhawk (ArduPilot and/or PX4)
- Support live flight test of autonomy software on F16s, group 1-5 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs)
- Collaborate with 3rd party UAS vehicle vendors on the integration of EpiSci autonomy software onto OEM UAS hardware.
- Collaborate with domain experts and prior DoD warfighters (ex. DoD fighter pilots) to build software autonomy solutions for military missions
