And right now, we’re seeking a Senior Government Affairs Manager. Based at our Arlington, VA location, you’ll represent the company on Capitol Hill and engage with Administration and Federal agency officials. Reporting to the U.S. Government Affairs Director, you will advocate our position through meetings with government officials, industry stakeholders, and the public policy community, representing the company at key forums and events and working with allied organizations and stakeholders to advance the organization’s interests.
What will your day look like?
In the Senior Government Affairs Manager role, every day is different. The Senior Government Affairs Manager is responsible for corporate outreach and for serving as a liaison to government agencies, think tanks, and industry and civil organizations. You might be attending a hearing on Capitol Hill or meeting with Congressional staff, participating in events involving government officials or the media, or analyzing significant Federal or State legislative, policy or regulatory developments. National and international travel is part of the job.
What do you need to be great at this role?
You must be highly professional, a self-starter, and a strategic thinker with excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to engage a wide ranch of audiences both internally and externally. A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is required. The ideal candidate will have a master’s degree, a law degree or other graduate degree, but a bachelor’s degree is required. Ideally, the candidate will have experience in working on energy issues at a Federal agency and/or as a staffer on Capitol Hill, however equivalent experience will be considered. You must be able to attain and maintain a U.S. “L” or “Q” Security Clearance.
