Description:

We are seeking a full-time Senior Grants and Projects Officer to join the Finance Team at the Department of Engineering Science (Central Oxford). This is a permanent position
You will be a senior member of the Grants & Projects team which supports the post-award financial management of the department’s research grants and trading contracts. You will have primary responsibility for a selected portfolio of research grants, supporting the relevant Principal Investigators and Project Managers to ensure that funds are securely managed. You will be expected to deal with issues and problems as they arise, liaising with a range of stakeholders and advising budget holders accordingly. You will also have responsibility overseeing the setting up of new projects, reconciling projects coming to an end, and preparing for grant audits, with additional responsibilities for running/updating all the EngSc monthly finance reports i.e. PREFECT (department forecasting tool), Core allocation report (staff forecasting tool), EngSci commitment report as well as the PSA report. All these reports require advanced knowledge of Excel, using different formulae.
You should have significant experience of financial administration in a large and complex working environment. You must also possess excellent inter-personal skills and the ability to convey financial information clearly to non-finance professionals. You must be highly organized with the ability to produce accurate work to tight deadlines. A proactive approach and good problem-solving abilities are also essential.
