Are you an experienced Health & Safety Professional with a background in construction?
We are looking to recruit to our newly created role of Senior Health & Safety Advisor. You’ll come to the role as an experienced health and safety professional with a background in construction which enables you to support the business with in-house responsive repairs and outsourced projects. Knowledge of the social housing environment will be desirable.
Day to day you’ll also be providing operational support to the team, reviewing incident investigation reports and triaging advice enquiries from colleagues so there will be lots of variety in the role.
You will spend time working across our operating regions and will have the flexibility to base yourself at home or book one of our office spaces if you prefer.
You’ll be seen as a knowledge expert in construction health and safety matters, and you’ll build some great relationships in the wider business while supporting their projects. You’ll be confident in your knowledge and your ability to guide and support stakeholders who look to you for that knowledge expertise.
As you would expect you will come to the role with a formal NEBOSH qualification, National Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent. You’ll already be a Chartered Member of IOSH or a Certified Member (CertIOSH) and working towards chartered status.
You will also come to the role with previous experience of leading and motivating a team of health and safety professionals. You’ll love sharing your knowledge and best practice to ensure safe working practices are at the heart of everything the team does.
You will have experience of working with the CDM regulations 2015 particularly the CDM Client and Principal Designer roles.
You’ll have a calm, logical approach to the way that you work, confidently managing your workload and supporting the wider team around you.
You will travel for the role, it’s likely that you’ll spend on average two days per week out and about in our operating areas. You will therefore need a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
Our operating region includes Hampshire, Wiltshire, Somerset, Dorset, Devon, Cornwall and London and you’ll be suitably located to enable the travel required.

We invest in our colleagues because we know if they have a better day at work, the service our customers receive will be better. The Aster Offer is our offer to our colleagues to ensure they have a great day at work and includes things like:

  • Flexible working – whilst some roles need to be carried out in a specific place at a specific time, where possible we encourage our colleagues to work to their own schedule at a location that suits them, their team and our business’ needs
  • A focus on colleague wellbeing – workshops, an employee assistance programme offering counselling and support, mental health training and a health cash plan
