Hours of work - 37.5 - 40 hours per week
Position - Permanent
Location - This role will be predominantly based at the Christchurch Wastewater Treatment Plant, but will also require regular presence at Civic Offices, and our 3 Waters Assets which are spread across Christchurch City & Banks Peninsula.
Salary - The salary band for this position goes from $111,553 to $123,948 per annum based on a 40 hour week. Starting salaries will be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, and relativities both, within the immediate team and in the broader organisation for the same or similar roles.

Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE | KO TE MAHI NEI
This newly established role will play an integral role within our operating teams by utilising your experience to help set a consistently high level of health, safety and wellbeing practices across all sites and activities. With nearly 50 staff on the ground, the role will be the driving force behind lifting our staff HS awareness, helping us to adapt our HS practices for the upcoming capital programme, and ensuring the promotion a safety-first culture. Key responsibilities include:
- Positively promoting and effectively facilitating HSW across all functions of the unit.
- Building and fostering relationships with leaders, staff and key stakeholders to enable meaningful collaboration.
- Continuously educating, coaching and mentoring managers and employees in systems and processes that promote HSW, therefore advancing our health, safety, and wellness culture.
- Identifying, recommending, and implementing improvements.
- Undertaking collaborative audits, investigations and reviews. Developing systems and strategies with our operational teams to advise on risk and best practice HSW.
