Description:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Health Care Assistant to join our established team of Gynaecology staff at Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Trust.
The post is available within the Family Services Care Group at Scunthorpe General Hospital. It is a rotational post to cover a 7 day emergency and outpatient service and provide in-reach to gynae patients on the general surgical wards. The shift pattern will include night shifts and weekends.
We are a friendly, small, supportive, well led team that can offer a variety of opportunities to further develop skills and knowledge within gynaecology and early pregnancy.
Caring for planned and emergency admissions provides lots of variety in each working day.
The Health Care Assistant post is to provide support and assistance to the Gynaecology nurses within both a Gynaecology SDEC and an outpatient setting, this includes colposcopy, outpatient hysteroscopy, minor operations, Early Pregnancy, pre assessment, oncology as well as Consultant outpatient clinics.
Our Gynaecology Same Day Emergency Care Unit is based next to SDEC within the new Integrated Acute Assessment Unit build. We accept referrals from ECC, GPOOH, outpatient clinics, midwives, GP’s and other health care professionals and aim to treat and discharge within the same day of attendance. For patients requiring a longer stay we have 2 ringfenced cubes within IAAU where treatment can be given.
We are looking for highly motivated and enthusiastic Health Care Assistants who have a keen interest in all aspects of women’s health and care.
Previous care experience is desirable but not essential.
NLAG is part of one of the largest acute and community Group arrangements in the NHS, seeing well over one million patients every year and managing a budget of over £1.3 billion.
Made up of two Trusts - Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust (NLAG) and Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (HUTH) - our Group has significant ambitions and is committed to delivering world-class hospital and community services for the 1.65 million people we serve.
Together we employ nearly 20,000 staff. Our five main hospital sites are Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital, Scunthorpe General Hospital and Goole and District Hospital, for NLAG and Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital for HUTH.
As Teaching Hospitals working with the Hull York Medical School, we both lead and contribute to research in many areas - biomedical research, primary care, palliative medicine, cardiovascular and respiratory medicine, vascular surgery, cancer surgery and oncology.
We believe that by developing a diverse, inclusive, innovative, skilled and caring workforce, we can deliver excellent care to our patients and a great future for our employees, our Group and our community.
Should we receive a high volume of applications the advert may be closed earlier than stated.
