ABOUT US:
Thermal Management is a department/sub-technology stream within Volvo Group Trucks Technology with the responsibility for developing optimized Vehicle Thermal Management Systems for all the truck brands within the Volvo Group.
In the Thermal Management Hardware Team, you will play an important role in ensuring the successful creation and deployment of a product, from initial concept through to production and maintenance.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
A dedicated and skilled automotive engineer with a deep expertise in thermal management, electrical system integration, and cooling technologies.
Eager to contribute to develop and optimize high-performance cooling solutions, to enhance our vehicle efficiency, safety, and reliability.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- M.Sc. degree in Electrical, Electronics or Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent
- Several years of experience from development of thermal system hardware components, preferably within the automotive or transportation industry
- Competence in circuit design, power electronics, and understanding of high voltage systems.
- Knowledgeable in automotive industry safety standards, including ISO 26262 (functional safety), and compliance with high voltage safety regulations.
- Experience from supplier management and the APQP process
- Structured way of working and ability to deliver complex tasks with excellence
- Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Fluency in English, both spoken and written.

Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are looking for a High Voltage Component Engineer, with the primary focus on battery - and fuel cells electric vehicles (BEV/FCell).
As a HV Component Engineer, you will lead component development of Electric solutions for BEV and FCEV for all truck brands and markets within the Volvo Group. You will perform this work in close cooperation with our suppliers and colleagues representing different functions in our internal cross functional network. You will also be responsible for driving the strategic roadmap for the HV components under TM responsibility, in order to meet future demands for cooling performance of different systems in fuel cell and battery electric vehicles.
As part of a thermal management team, you share with peers your progresses and target to maximize the collective output.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead high voltage component development and create road maps for the future;
- Drive the technical dialogue with engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, suppliers;
- Contribute to system design in early stages of new projects;
- Perform D-FMEA and other proactive quality activities;
- Create component technical requirements;
- Develop and anchor time plan for component level;
- Support testing, fault tracing and builds;
