RETTEW, a leading engineering consulting firm, is seeking a Senior Highway Engineer/Project Manager to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dedicated group of professionals and make a significant impact on our projects and clients.

As a Senior Highway Engineer/Project Manager at RETTEW, the candidate could be involved in a variety of projects. While the specific projects would depend on the current needs of the company and its clients, they might include:

  • Geometric Design: Developing roadway models in accordance with relevant design criteria.
  • Roadway Design: Designing new roadways or improving existing ones to enhance traffic flow and safety.
  • Construction Plan Development: Presenting roadway design elements for construction.
  • Project Management: Develop contract documents and manage staff to complete tasks on time and budget.
  • Highway Occupancy Permits: Develop necessary documents and materials for obtaining HOPs in various jurisdictions.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage traffic engineering projects. Project location may include Pennsylvania, Ohio and/or West Virginia
  • Attend site visits
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop effective solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
  • Manage and oversee highway projects, ensuring compliance with PADEP HOP (Highway Occupancy Permits) and WV Driveway and Crossing Permits.
  • Coordinate with state and local agencies to obtain necessary permits and approvals.
  • Conduct site inspections and assessments to ensure project adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Develop and implement project plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Supervise and guide project teams, ensuring timely and efficient project completion.
  • Prepare and present project reports and updates to stakeholders.
  • Address and resolve any issues or challenges that arise during project execution.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in highway project management or a related field.
  • Proven experience with PENNDOT HOP and WV Driveway and Crossing Permits.
  • Strong knowledge of state and local regulations related to highway construction and maintenance.
  • Excellent project management skills, including planning, scheduling, and budgeting.
  • Ability to lead and manage project teams effectively.
  • Proficient in traffic modeling software.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
