We are looking for a Senior Hotel Receptionist to join our team at the luxurious five-star plus Old Parsonage Hotel, which is part of ‘The Oxford Collection’; a small, independently owned group of hotels and restaurants in central Oxford, comprising Gees Restaurant Bar, the Old Parsonage Hotel, Parsonage Grill, the Old Bank Hotel and Quod Restaurant Bar.
We offer support, training, and development opportunities to help your career flourish. We believe that investment in each and every one of our ‘collectives’ is key to the success of our business and the happiness of our customers. As a member of the team, we are looking for an exceptional candidate who shares these values.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead by example in terms of behaviour, attitude, appearance, knowledge, performance, hospitality and customer service.
  • Ensure the bar team immediately welcome and acknowledge all guests at all times, and anticipate drink refills/food orders where appropriate.
  • Liaise with Front Office Manager / Assistant Front Office Manager to address and record any disciplinary matters when necessary.
  • Responsible for observing and complying with the company’s fire plan and health and safety policy.
  • Train and encourage the reception team to follow the daily checklists.
  • Contribute to the smooth running of the hotel by interacting productively and effectively with all other departments.
  • Be equipped with the knowledge to provide information to our guests, of all hotel facilities and services, our sister hotel and restaurants, and relevant local information.
  • Employ diplomacy and tact when faced with guest comments or complaints in the absence of a senior manager.
We offer a sensible shift pattern, across a 40-hour working week (Monday to Sunday rota with two days off) with a salary of £25,708.80 per annum, plus non-contractual tronc (service charge).
