Job description
We are looking for a forward thinking experienced HR adviser to lead the transformation of our HR operational provision, ensuring processes are streamlined, efficient, and fit for the future. This pivotal role focuses on reviewing and enhancing the transactional and people-oriented processes carried out by HR and managers. With the principle of ‘inclusive by design’ at its heart, our emphasis will be on leveraging technology, and eliminating unnecessary burden and bureaucracy. Ultimately, enhancing the user experience. You will be instrumental in creating a more agile HR function that better supports our managers and colleagues.
You will have a holistic approach to evaluating our current practices, identifying inefficiencies, and co-designing and implementing innovative solutions that drive operational excellence. Your work will contribute directly to making HR Operational processes more efficient, user-friendly, inclusive and aligned with the needs of a modern workforce.

This is a full-time post for a fixed term period to 31st August 2026
to support the University’s transformation agenda.
We are currently operating a hybrid model of working. However, the successful candidate would be expected to work on campus for part of the week based at the Pontypridd campus of the University of South Wales.
