Description:
How you’ll make a difference:
The HR Casework and Change Team enables our council to perform people management responsibilities effectively through the provision of consistent and practical HR advice.
As the Senior HR Advisor, your knowledge and expertise will make a difference in providing support and guidance to managers on case management, including complex cases.
This will be around performance management, discipline and grievances, with the aim of timely and appropriate resolution and risk mitigation predominately around Vinney Green Secure Children Home.
What you will be doing:
- The primary purpose of your role will be responsible for supporting and upskilling managers at Vinney Green Secure Children’s Home.Managing a HR caseload you will support manager with case management including complex cases.
- Part of the role will include you reviewing current processes and how they meet the needs of the home.
- You will be responsible for leading the HR requirements for significant workforce change projects.
- Using your experience and knowledge you will be an expert in solving problems to be able to deliver solutions which work for our customers (managers and employees) and are legal compliant.
- You will assist with job analysis and design in relation to workforce change projects and periodically chair validation panels.
What we need from you:
- We require you to have proven, contemporary HR delivery experience and sound technical expertise in employee relations legislation, case work practice and change management principles, ideally gained within a complex operating environment.
- You will be professionally qualified, ideally to Associate CIPD (intermediate level) or equivalent level of experience.It is essential that you have excellent written and spoken communication skills to empathise with and influence a wide range of stakeholders.
- You will be trained in job evaluation methodology, Hay preferable (or willingness to be trained in Hay methodology), and be able to chair validation panels.
- You will have effective reasoning and analytical skills and the ability to form sound judgements to give well-reasoned advice.

- This is a limited term contract, ending 31st March 2026.
