The Department of Government Services (DGS) was established on 1 January 2023 to improve everyone’s experience of doing business and interacting with the Victorian government. We bring important day-to-day services together in one department to make things easy and seamless for Victorians and businesses. We are doing this by connecting and digitising our systems and platforms across state and local government as well as streamlining our corporate and procurement services.
About the role
The Senior HR Business Partner provides high level strategic and expert advice to key stakeholders through a HR Business Partnership model and develops and executes integrated HR strategies and initiatives that deliver fit-for-purpose human resource outcomes.
The role also provides coaching and support on a broad range of complex HR issues offering contemporary and flexible solutions in line with organisational priorities and in accordance with relevant government policy, legislation, industrial awards and departmental policies.
About you
To be considered for the role, you must be able to demonstrate:
- Strong HR generalist experience, with a proven record in providing strategic HR advice and ability to contribute to workforce management and planning, with a focus on meeting organisational priorities.
- Extensive HR business partnering and coaching experience, with highly developed consultancy and negotiation skills to assist clients in clarifying needs, expectations and outcomes as well as providing expert advice in a timely manner.
- Demonstrated conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills with the capability to analyse complex issues and identify effective solutions based on a consideration of the facts and alternatives in a government setting.
- Highly developed interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with an ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships, provide clear and accurate advice on processes and policies, and work effectively with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities for People and Culture to add value and improve processes and experience for clients, drawing upon workforce experience or data insights.
