REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A. /B.S.) or equivalent in Human Resources or related discipline.
  • Experience: Ten (10) plus years related experience and/or training, including at least three years in a management role with an emphasis on organizational development and employee relations. Experience in supporting multinational operations and/or working within a pharmaceutical or biotechnology environment strongly preferred.
  • Experience working in both start-up & established environment is preferred.
  • A track record of providing practical HR solutions that drive business results, problem-solving and accountability.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret and communicate data.
  • Solid project management skills including attention to detail, highly organized.
  • Ability to build relationships, establish trust, manage conflict and influence others
  • Ability to work in a changing environment and help lead others through the phases of change. Education:
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
  • Certifications: PHR/SPHR preferred.
  • Other: Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills, and the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities. Strong computer skills, including knowledge of HRIS and MS Office desktop applications.
    The pay for this position starts at $145,000 to $180,000 annually. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
    Protagonist Therapeutics is a biopharmaceutical company with peptide-based new chemical entities (NCEs) rusfertide and JNJ-2113 (formerly PN-235) in advanced stages of clinical development, both derived from the Company’s proprietary technology platform. Protagonist and Janssen scientists jointly discovered PN-235 (now known as JNJ-2113) as part of Protagonist’s Interleukin-23 receptor (IL-23R) collaboration with Janssen and followed it through IND-enabling pre-clinical and Phase 1 studies, with Janssen assuming responsibility for further clinical development. Rusfertide, a mimetic of the natural hormone hepcidin, is the Company’s lead drug candidate currently in a global Phase 3 development program. The randomized portion of the Phase 2 REVIVE study was unblinded, showing positive results and is now complete, with an open-label extension underway. The global Phase 3 VERIFY study of rusfertide in polycythemia vera is ongoing. Protagonist retains all worldwide development and commercialization rights to rusfertide.

Responsibilities:

ROLE OVERVIEW

Protagonist Therapeutic is seeking an Associate Director of Human Resources as part of the HR Team. The Successful candidate will have a proven track record in providing proactive human resources leadership. Provides organizational development and strategic support in designing and implementing programs in support of new and ongoing Human Resources initiatives, employee relations and mediation of workplace issues. Participates in HR strategic planning and partnership with site leadership teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage our full employee life-cycle, including onboarding, internal operations, and employee experience
  • Manage and administer employee benefits programs
  • Serve as a strategic partner to the Head of HR on all people-related matters including organizational development, change management, and interpersonal dynamics within the company, with a focus on supporting the company’s mission and goals
  • Formulate partnerships across the company to deliver value-added services to management and employees that reflect the organization’s business objectives
  • Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with the business to provide HR solutions and implement corresponding programs and policies
  • Be the ambassador of the HR organization to represent the services and resources available to the business and help manage the collective reputation of the HR organization as a whole
  • Work closely with the Company’s finance team on issues related to payroll, hiring, and benefits
  • Additional responsibilities as needed in a growing organization
