JOB SUMMARY

The Senior HR Specialist will serve as a key member of the Human Resources team, providing expert guidance and support in various HR functions. This role involves overseeing some HR programs, assisting with strategic initiatives, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations. The Senior HR Specialist will work closely with Director of People and Culture and employees to foster a positive work environment and support organizational goals.
Work Location: Hybrid (Currently 3 days a week, subject to change)
City: Surrey
Type: full-time, Permanent
Salary: $63,000 - $82,000
This range reflects the minimum and maximum target payable for the base salary of new hires across all Canadian locations. Actual compensation may vary outside this range and is dependent on various factors.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. or HR certification (e.g., CPHR) is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in human resources, with at least 2 years in a senior or specialist role.
  • Strong knowledge of HR principles, practices, and employment laws.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Proven experience in managing complex employee relations issues and implementing effective solutions.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods and work at a computer.
  • Occasional travel may be required depending on organizational needs.

Responsibilities:

  1. HR Program Management:
  • Assist in Developing, implementing, and managing HR programs and initiatives in areas such as talent management, performance management, employee engagement, and training and development.
  • Provide input to HR policies and procedures to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  1. Recruitment and Onboarding:
  • Oversee recruitment processes, including job postings, candidate screening, interviewing, and selection.
  • Manage the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition and integration into the company.
  1. Employee Relations:
  • Act as a point of contact for employee concerns, addressing issues related to workplace conflict, performance, and disciplinary actions.
  • Promote a positive workplace culture through effective communication and problem resolution
  1. Compliance and Record-Keeping:
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, including documentation related to HR processes and legal requirements.
  1. Training and Development:
  • Identify training needs and coordinate the delivery of relevant training programs.
  • Support employee development initiatives and career planning.
  1. Performance Management:
  • Assist in the development and execution of performance management systems.
  • Provide guidance to managers on performance evaluation and feedback processes.
  1. HR Metrics and Reporting:
  • Analyze HR metrics and generate reports to support decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Track key HR performance indicators and recommend improvements as needed.
  1. Project Management:
  • Lead or participate in HR projects, such as policy updates, and employee engagement initiatives.
