Our Middle East operation is currently in a strong growth phase due to the significance of some of our projects. The Project Management team is also growing and as a result we are seeking an experienced Senior HVAC Design Engineer who will be supporting the Property and Building Business Groups to deliver their projects. The successful candidate will join the GHD team, based in our Abu Dhabi, UAE office

Requirements

• Professional experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in Mechanical engineering, with a focus on designing HVAC for various applications and a Proven track record of successfully completed HVAC engineering projects.
• BMS experience is a must.
• Proficiency in HVAC modeling software and tools including Revit, Autocad, IES & HAP.
• Experience in Life Sciences, including pharmaceutical and healthcare facilities.
• Experienced in delivering HVAC design. Producing ventilation system design deliverables, i.e., Ventilation Flow Diagrams (VFD’s), Basis of Design (BoD), Plant Sizing Calculations (Heating / Cooling / Fan Sizing) Control Philosophy.
• In-depth knowledge of fluid mechanics, pipe flow, pump selection, and chilled water system design.
• Knowledge of local and international codes and standards related to HVAC engineering.
• Experience ensuring projects comply with relevant regulations and permitting requirements.
• Report writing expertise.
• Commercially Aware: Demonstrates working knowledge of external forces impacting GHD; financial, market, economic, legal and regulatory environments and how GHD responds to them commercially.
• Agile Learner: Actively learns through experimentation and experience and seeks ways to grow and to be challenged by new and novel conditions.Client Centric: Anticipates and prioritizes client needs and takes action to provide high-quality client experience

• Lead the design and implementation of HVAC systems for commercial, industrial, and residential projects.
• Collaborate with clients to understand their requirements and provide technical guidance and solutions.
• Prepare detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
• Supervise and mentor junior engineers and technicians, providing guidance and support as needed.
• Ensure all HVAC systems are installed and maintained according to industry standards and regulations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to HVAC systems, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
