WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
We are looking for a Senior Hydrotechnical Engineer to join our Vancouver-based engineering team to work on local and international mining and resource projects. Your experience will be applied to the planning, investigation, assessment, design and construction of tailings and water dams and waste storage for mining. Career development can be managed to support personal preferences such as niche, technical design specialists, or project participation in both technical dam engineering scopes and project management, or all-round engineering specialists.
Responsibilities:
- Work with the latest versions of software, including GoldSim, PCSWMM, HEC-RAS, HEC- HMS, Flow-2D/3D
- Work on mine site wide water balance and water quality models (with the opportunity to use GoldSim)
- Design hydrotechnical components tailings storage facilities for global mining projects
- Incorporate climate change resiliency in hydrotechnical design
- Contribute to risk assessments, Dam Safety Reviews and risk-informed decision making
- Engage with clients, colleagues and suppliers on environmentally focused field programs and design solutions
- Lead less experienced staff through the methodologies of design solutions
- Build client rapport as projects progress from feasibility through to mine closur
