SENIOR INDUSTRIAL ENGINEER – JOHANNESBURG WEST.
Our client, a leading player in the steel fabrication industry, dedicated to excellence in steel processing and manufacturing, is currently seeking a highly experienced Senior Industrial Engineer with a strong background in steel processing to join their team.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Completed bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 6+ years of experience in industrial engineering, with a significant focus on steel processing or heavy manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of steel production processes, including rolling, forming, cutting, and heat treatment.
- Bilingual in English and Afrikaans
- Proficiency in process optimization techniques, including lean manufacturing and Six Sigma.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to lead complex projects from conception to completion.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Experience with CAD software, process simulation tools, and ERP systems is a plus.

Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage process improvement initiatives within the steel processing plant, focusing on efficiency, quality, and cost reduction.
- Analyse and optimize production workflows, equipment utilization, and material flow to maximize productivity.
- Develop and implement strategies for reducing waste, energy consumption, and downtime in steel processing operations.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and maintenance teams to troubleshoot issues and identify areas for improvement.
- Utilize lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other industrial engineering methodologies to enhance operational performance.
- Oversee the design, testing, and implementation of new equipment or modifications to existing equipment.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and production staff.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and quality control procedures.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare regular reports on process improvements and operational efficiency.
