Job Description
Our offices in Western Canada are in the middle of a large growth trajectory. This means new, exciting complex projects that you will have the ability to shape and be a part of. We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Industrial Mechanical Engineer who will join our Mechanical and Piping Team. In collaboration with the Energy and Resources team, the incumbent will be called upon to assume responsibility for a multitude of multidisciplinary projects primarily in the Oil and Gas and Mining sectors. Initially this position will be taking a primary role in the design of materials handling, pressure, process and piping projects across western Canada. As the team grows the role will gain more leadership responsibilities, including the oversight of junior engineers and EIT’s.
These skills combined with excellent business acumen will be key in growing our Western Canadian team.
This role can be located in any of our Western Canada offices, including Rossland, Vancouver, Kelowna, Calgary, Edmonton, Regina or Saskatoon.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Participate and produce various deliverables in line with the project needs;
  • Work in multidisciplinary project teams, produce and sign off deliverables;
  • Work with the department Lead to pursue new business opportunities with new and/or existing clients
  • Assist stakeholders in proposal writing and fee estimates
  • Coach, guide and mentor more junior engineers on the team
  • Collaboratively support business/operations through sound management of value, risk, content, communication, knowledge & resources
  • Provide expertise in brownfield and sustaining projects
  • Ensuring compliance to Health & Safety, as well as all other regulations & policies
  • Development & implementation of budgets
  • Partake to site surveys

Qualifications
-

Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering

  • 10+ years of completing Engineering design work in the Mining and/or Oil and Gas sectors
  • P.Eng designation or eligible to become a P.Eng within Canada
  • Proven organizational, analytical & problem-solving skills;
  • Able to multi-task, meet deadlines, self-motivate, and adapt to change;
  • Excellent Communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with all levels.
  • Experience with metal / mineral processing plants, piping, cooling systems, compression, mining operations, conveyance systems and / or pressure vessels is considered an asset
