Mater Human Resources is looking for an experienced Senior Industrial Relations Advisor to join our team. This permanent, full-time role is based at our Newstead offices.
The Senior Industrial Relations (IR) Advisor plays a key role in the management of IR matters, including the negotiation of Enterprise Agreements, policy development/review and developing applications and employer responses to applications made to external bodies such as the Fair Work Commission.
The Senior IR Advisor provides comprehensive advice and assistance to Human Resources (HR) Business Partners, managers and employees to support the resolution of IR issues.
Salary range: $121,360 - $129,998 per annum plus 11.5% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
Responsibilities:
You will co-ordinate and lead activities related to the negotiation, approval and implementation of Enterprise Agreements and provide advice to HR teams and clients to ensure compliance with, and consistent application of, Enterprise Agreements.
- Manage the resolution of workplace issues through the undertaking of investigations, provision of accurate advice, management of risk to the business, and appropriate consultation with respect to progress and outcomes.
- Identify issues within existing policies and procedures as well as drafting new policies and procedures to ensure best practice, business focussed and legislatively compliant employment practices.
- Provide advice on a wide range of industrial issues to the Principal IR Advisor, Director Employment Arrangements, Executive Director Human Resources and other Mater stakeholders with a focus on practical, viable outcomes.
- Manage relationships with external parties including unions as required to meet the organisation’s operational and strategic needs.
- Identification of compliance issues or areas for improvement for escalation to the Principal IR Advisor and/or Director Employment Arrangements.
- Research relevant and contemporary industrial issues in order to provide a brief to the Principal IR Advisor or Director Employment Arrangements for provision to senior management as required.
- Provide support and technical guidance to the Industrial Relations Adviser.
