Description:

The Clinical Directorate within Digital Health & Care Wales (DHCW) are looking to appoint a Senior Information Governance Officer to work within the team.
The organisation leads on large-scale developments that make a significant difference to the people of Wales. This post is responsible for leading the IG Operational Teams assurance activities, providing advice and guidance for all Wales projects and programmes.
You will be working as part of a dynamic and friendly team to raise the profile of data protection and information governance.
The role will require knowledge of Information Governance, Data Protection and Confidentiality.
You will be required to hold a relevant degree or have experience in an Information Governance role, ideally holding a recognised qualification in Data Protection.

As the Senior IG Officer, you will have responsibility for leading the IG assurance activities to support all Wales projects and programmes. You will be required to provide high quality advice and support to a range of internal and external stakeholders in the areas of Information Sharing,
Confidentiality, Records Management, Data Protection and Freedom of Information.

YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO SUPPORT THE OPERATIONAL IG TEAM BY:

Managing the completion of robust data protection impact assessments and ensuring the robust assessment of IG related risks and issues associated with projects and programmes.
Prepare and present appropriate reports
Assist in the design, development and delivery of IG training packages
Manage and respond to requests for information
providing Information governance expertise, identifying best practice and making recommendations
The ideal candidate must have a flexible approach to working, along with excellent communication and organisational skills. In addition, they should ideally hold a recognised Data Protection qualification or have significant experience in providing advice and guidance as an information governance subject matter expert. Experience of working in health and/or social care is desirable but not essential for this role.
