- Extensive experience with VMware, particularly in advanced server virtualization techniques
- Deep knowledge of Linux server design, administration, and optimization
- Experience in Microsoft server solutions, including intricate aspects of Active Directory, Group Policy, and system performance fine-tuning
- Demonstrable skills in server hardware configurations within datacentres
Responsibilities:
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Strategic Infrastructure Design and Oversight: Architect and implement infrastructure solutions that align seamlessly with the organization’s strategic goals. This involves advanced server virtualization using VMware, Linux server strategies, and pioneering Microsoft service innovations;
- Advanced Server Management: Oversee the installation, configuration, and optimization of servers, guaranteeing top-tier performance, availability, and security standards. Provide guidance in troubleshooting highly detailed server-related tasks;
- Data Centre Experience: Drive optimal data centre configurations, ensuring servers are efficiently racked and commissioned. Formulate best practices for infrastructure layout to ensure top-notch efficiency and reliability;
- System Monitoring: Support system health assessments and devise strategies to mitigate potential system interruptions. Establish a robust system maintenance routine, including patch management, firmware upgrades, and disaster recovery planning;
- Technical Collaboration: Engage and guide cross-functional teams, coordinating with network engineers, software developers, and system administrators. Ensure the infrastructure blueprint seamlessly integrates with the wider business vision;
- Security and Regulatory Experience: Design and enforce top-tier security measures to protect the organization’s infrastructure and data. Stay updated with industry security best practices and ensure alignment with standards, including ISO27001 and PCI;
- Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Regularly update technical documentation, ensuring they reflect current system configurations, best practices, and troubleshooting methods. Promote a culture of knowledge sharing within the team.
