JOB SUMMARY
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Infrastructure Operations and Lifecycle Manager in our Digital and Technology Group (DTG).
This is a full-time opportunity, on a permanent basis. Please be aware that these roles can only be worked in the UK and not overseas. We are currently operating a hybrid way of working, with a minimum of 40% of contracted hours working on site to enable the collaboration and contact with partners and stakeholders needed to deliver MHRA business. This may rise to 60% during the year. Attendance on site is driven by business needs so depending on the nature of the role, some roles will need to be on site more regularly.
JOB DESCRIPTION
You will work alongside the Head of IT infrastructure undertaking a diverse range of tasks in supporting the Infrastructure Operations and infrastructure Project Support (IOPS) team in its mission to deliver a modern IT Infrastructure to enable the business to succeed.
You will support the management of the D&T IT Infrastructure Team on a day-to-day basis and be responsible for driving and overseeing the delivery of both BAU and project activities to ensure that the objectives are clearly defined and achieved within the agreed time, cost and quality constraints.
You will create and maintain relationships with our key business partners such as finance, Project Management and Procurement teams, fostering collaborative and supportive working relationships.
You will take the lead in governance and assurance working groups, engaging with key stakeholders to ensure the agreed project outputs are delivered and benefits are realised and captured. You will actively encourage and support continuous improvement within the IOPS team, facilitating development and growth using processes like lessons learnt, continuous improvement, and risk identification and mitigations.
As required you will also deputise for Head of IT Infrastructure – ensuring effective continuation of services in the absence of Head of IT Infrastructure are in place with appropriate controls to be able to support requests and continue the delivery of the department.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
The successful candidate will have strong experience of financial budgeting and management, including a good understanding of financial practices and processes and also have demonstrable experience of managing complex IT infrastructure programmes of work.
You should have a track record of providing strategic advice to stakeholders, business partners and senior leaders, providing constructive challenges and feedback as well as successfully influencing decisions using data and strategic insight to deliver wider objectives.
You will be a strong and capable communicator, able to explain technical concepts to a wide range of audiences and you will be able to work on multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously, delivering a pace and prioritising as required.
