DESCRIPTION
We are managing complex, large-scale commercial projects from conceptual planning through design, construction, and occupancy. Join our construction management team to collaborate on projects that are as technically challenging as they are impactful, creative, and fulfilling.
YOUR CAPABILITIES AND CREDENTIALS
- Familiar with field construction activities
- Able to work on weekends, nights, shift work, additional hours as required
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Proficiency with MS Office
- Previous office administration experience working in a construction office setting an asset
- A valid Ontario driver’s license and access to a vehicle
- Able to travel and work in the greater Ottawa and surrounding area
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
A post-secondary diploma or degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology / Technician or equivalent
Minimum 2 years’ experience in engineering/construction working on MTO projects
Prior experience as an Office Person on an MTO contract
Either registration as a as a Technician or Technologist with O.A.C.E.T.T. or Professional Engineer or Engineer-in-Training with PEO
Designation as determined by OACETT as a Road Construction Senior Inspector (RCSI) or Road Construction Contract Administration (RCCA)

Responsibilities:
- Assists with monitoring and calculation of production rates
- Assists with monitoring compliance with and administering terms of operational constraints of the contract
- Manage all paperwork and communication within the field office
- Provides a leading role in monitoring compliance to commitments of and administering construction contract provisions regarding the Contractor’s Quality Control Performance Measures
- Checks and inspects construction activities, operations and work to ensure compliance with the contract documents, drawings, and specifications
- Conducts site surveys, confirms scope of work, obtains relevant information, equipment and materials and maintains quality and payment records in a daily diary for the work completed
- Compiles field/test data in a report form for review by the Contract Administrator
- Liaise / Coordinate with service providers for specialized inspections and/or testing to ensure the tasks are completed per the terms or reference, specifications or agreement
- Obtain video / photographic records as required
- Record, review and address contractor questions and clarifications by reporting to the Contract Administrator for resolution if not already provided to the contractor
- Attend site meetings and reconnaissance on-site
- Able to handle multiple priorities without losing focus
