EXPERIENCE:

  • Remarkable years of experience
  • Excellent skills with MS Excel, MS Word and MS Access.
  • Able to interpret technical drawings.
  • Ability to create accurate design drawings from base project information.
  • Able to establish and manage effective workplace relationships.
  • Ability to interact effectively with people and use clear, fluent and expressive verbal and written language to convey information and ideas.
  • Knowledge of the requirements for Instrument installations within hazardous areas.
  • Some experience with 3D modelling systems such as PDS, PDMS or AutoPlant.
  • Some experience with advanced engineering design and data systems such as SmartPlant Instrumentation.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure work is carried out competently and effectively, within time and budget constraints, and that project objectives are satisfied.
  • Overall supervision of electrical engineers, designers and technical personnel in the execution of the project.
  • Ensure integrity of workscope and that all work is carried our in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Facilitate and develop a productive and cohesive team.
  • Maintain and facilitate an awareness of HS&E across the discipline within assigned project.
  • Maintain and facilitate an awareness of HS&E in Design across the discipline within assigned project.
  • Promote the understanding and application of risk management techniques within the discipline.
  • Ensure electrical discipline personnel consistently work within the Quality Management System.
  • Monitor and maintain electrical engineering estimating norms.
  • Develop and promote initiatives to improve cost effectiveness and productivity on projects.
  • Assist in the recruitment of competent discipline engineering personnel.
  • Manage project discipline resource requirements.
  • Manage performance appraisals, competency development and career development of assigned personnel.
  • Identify software necessary to enable electrical group to function effectively.
  • Discipline and inter discipline communication development.
  • Prepare electrical cost, time and resource requirement estimates on assigned projects.
  • Identify and review new technologies development which may provide more efficient and cost effective solutions.
  • Manage design change within project budget and schedule framework.
  • Prepare electrical progress and expenditure reports on a project specific basis.
