Mō te tūranga | About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to lead and grow the Financial Crime reporting function whilst doing meaningful work that helps prevent serious harm to our communities.
A key component of this role is to develop and maintain a suite of dashboards, providing oversight and commentary on the latest financial crime trends. Responsibilities include delivering monthly (and ad hoc) reporting, statistics, data analysis and key metrics as well as leading the identification and implementation of data analytics opportunities.
This centralised reporting role drives meaningful change by effectively interpreting stakeholder requirements, understanding and explaining data outputs, identifying anomalies, issues or gaps generating actionable insights and proposing solutions to pain points.
Working in the Financial Crime Intelligence and Insights team, you’ll play a key part in ensuring Westpac’s financial crime risk management environment is supported through robust analysis, detection activity and subject matter expertise to ensure the best customer outcomes.

Nā tāu rourou | What will you bring?

  • Minimum 2 years analytics, reporting and insights experience
  • SAS or SQL analytical skills
  • Proficient with Power BI and/or similar visualisation tools
  • Experience creating, supporting and curating a suite of self-service reports and dashboards that inform business decision making or monitor key metrics
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to work with large, complex data to deliver meaningful, relevant and actionable insights
  • Ability to effectively interpret stakeholder requirements and data outputs
  • Comfortable with data blending and preparation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present to groups.
  • Knowledge of the financial sector and risk management processes
  • Great with time-management, able to juggle multiple projects, prioritise and meet deadlines
