ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

*Multiple locations; Washington DC USA and London UK
We are hiring an experienced investigations counsel within Ericsson’s Corporate and Government Investigations (CGI) group, which is part of Group Function Legal Affairs & Compliance (GFLA). The CGI team is responsible for the investigation of potential legal and compliance violations within Ericsson and is a critical support in ensuring the effectiveness and credibility of the Company’s ethics & compliance program, defending the Company’s commitment to integrity in its culture and ways of working, building trust with its stakeholders, including enforcement authorities, and ultimately driving the company’s sustainable success. This position is on the Enforcement Team within the CGI group, which manages Ericsson’s government-facing investigations worldwide, and reports to the Head of Enforcement in Washington, DC.
This position is based in either the greater Washington, DC or the greater London, UK area. The position is primarily remote, with flexibility to work a combination of at home and in the office.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • E-discovery experience is a plus
  • Foreign language fluency is a plus

Responsibilities:

  • Give legal advice in connection with investigations, particularly investigations by government authorities, complex internal investigations, and cross-border investigations
  • Determine the need for and maintain attorney-client privilege; conduct investigations under attorney-client privilege where applicable and using internal resources or external counsel
  • Support our investigation, handling and reporting of matters to government authorities, where appropriate
  • Supervise external counsel on investigations and related matters
  • Support the preservation and collection of relevant data, the timely review and production of data, and the tracking of materials sought, collected and produced, as appropriate
  • Conduct internal investigations in a forensically sound, robust, fair and timely manner, and in compliance with relevant laws (including employment laws and data privacy laws)
  • Draft clear written reports and summaries, edit reports, and assist others with report drafting
  • Collaborate with other in-house lawyers, investigators, analysts, and data management teams
  • Inform relevant decision-makers of the status of investigation findings on a timely basis and present summaries of the investigation
  • Assist in the development of investigations policies and processes
  • Act with integrity, objectivity and fairness
  • Apply sound legal judgment to address gray areas and interpret and apply the law
