Description:
We are in search of a Senior Investment Analyst in the non-profit sector, located in San Francisco, California. This role presents a short term contract employment opportunity and requires expertise in Alternative Investments. As a Senior Investment Analyst, you will be tasked with providing, maintaining, and evolving impact investment services, while also participating in the development of new investment clients. The role also involves significant client interaction and collaboration with internal teams.
Responsibilities:
- Provide information about the organization’s impact investment services and solutions to new and existing clients
- Maintain and evolve the impact investment roadmap based on new learnings and insights
- Participate in the development of new investment clients, discussing investment products, services, strategies, investment performance, risk profiles and review of market conditions
- Evaluate the performance of investments, making timely changes to a portfolio due to cash flows, rebalancing, and guideline changes to meet investment client objectives
- Develop and present long-term capital sufficiency analyses based on client goals, current financial data, inflation, and investment assumptions
- Maintain current awareness of new impact investment strategies and instruments through regular investment research
- Leverage landscape analysis to identify leading impact investment trends and recommend alterations or enhancements to the customer’s investments products and services
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of investment screening processes with a particular focus on impact investments
- Regularly interact with clients regarding transactions, such as asset transfers and account opening procedures, researching client inquiries and conducting quarterly performance reviews
- Provide client account onboarding and structuring
- Partner with the Director, Investments to prepare Board materials and summaries for client meetings
- Work closely with internal operations teams to document procedures and support process improvement efforts, including streamlining workstreams, data collection, data management, knowledge management, onboarding, and training of new clients
- Support ongoing efforts to optimize the client experience
- Drive, evaluate, and facilitate process improvement projects across cross-functional teams including Finance/Accounting, Marketing, Client Services, Strategic Partnerships, Legal, and Information Technology.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in an investment analyst role or a related field.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Alternative Investments.
- Proven track record of effective decision-making in investments.
- Exceptional analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in financial modeling and valuation techniques.
- Strong knowledge of financial markets and investment strategies.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
- A Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or a related field; a Master’s degree would be an added advantage.
- Professional certifications such as CFA or CIMA would be preferred.
- Experience in non-profit industry would be a significant advantage.
- Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Knowledge of relevant investment and financial analysis software.
- Ability to interpret complex financial data and provide recommendations based on this data.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with key stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically.
