As Senior Investment Associate you will take the opportunity to drive and own the portfolio management, leading the whole process, from origination, qualification to closing of investments.

A great ecosystem knowledge and existing network will be vital as you build close relations with multiple stakeholders, sourcing and converting startups with ease. Your communication and soft skills will allow you to coach our founders to success.

You will work alongside our experienced international team to increase Rockstart’s investments portfolio value, in alignment with company strategy and Rockstart’s purpose and mission. With the recent launch of our second AgriFood and Energy Funds, this role represents a great opportunity for personal growth.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 3+ years of relevant experience working with VC (or related) transactions.
  • Well-developed social and interpersonal skills, strong relationship management skills.
  • Passion for early stage startups, with a desire to excel in the fields of venture capital and entrepreneurship.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) in English.

Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside the Partners and Rockstart team in the lead generation, sourcing, assessment and development of new investment opportunities in Rockstart ventures.
  • Researching companies and trends, to shape and refine fund investment strategy.
  • Identify social issues where impact venture investment can help scale innovative solutions – including through analysis of tech-enabled impact business models.
  • Work in a lean team and engage with Rockstart’s wider organisation to oversee deal pipeline processes and tools.
  • Support the investment team in collecting, analyzing and categorizing the portfolio based on qualitative and quantitative data to monitor performance with periodic reporting.
  • Preparing and recommending capital allocation with the Partners.
  • Preparing and drafting investment recommendations and documentation for the Investment Committee.
  • Ensuring investments are made in line with Rockstart’s criteria for successful follow-on investments.
  • Building networks and relationships throughout the venture capital ecosystem, syndicating follow-on investments and sharing dealflow with relevant investors.
