Responsibilities:
YOUR ROLE
The Financial Institutions Department is looking for a Senior Investment Officer. In this role your activities will be will be focused across the geographies in Africa, yet with a focus on East Africa and French speaking countries. You will report to the Manager for Financial Institutions Africa and be part of this team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Business development: Contributes to overall origination activities, if applicable in new countries, drafts key account plans and/or country strategies. Creates innovative business opportunities.
- Portfolio management: Has overall responsibility for quality and timelines of all internal documents (e.g. reviews, change and waiver requests, disbursements, and FRC memos).
- Strong relationships management: build strong relationship with clients and prospects by understanding their business, the market and environment they operate in and the risks and challenges they face through regular visits and/or calls.
- Team collaboration: Active participation in defining the Financial Institutions Arica strategy/business plan together with the manager and colleagues, structures transactions in collaboration with environmental and other specialists and teams like syndications, Know Your Customer, guarantee and state fund managers to offer the best solution to the client.
- Coaches Investment Officers, Associates and Portfolio Analysts as needed.
- Explicitly shares industry, regional and client insights.
- Takes the lead in negotiation/contracting process of debt transactions in collaboration with the legal team.
