We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Senior IT Infrastructure Administrator to join our IT team in Langley, BC.
Reporting to the Team Lead, IT Operations, you will be responsible for the execution of the event, incident and problem management processes of mission-critical systems, applications, and IT infrastructure. This includes triaging and resolving issues ranging from store outages, server failures, network failures, faulty applications, and system access requests.
Senior IT Infrastructure Administrators operate in shifts to provide 24-hour service coverage, 365 days a year.
You will be responsible for:
- Monitoring and responding to alarms in the Operations Center to ensure the protection and integrity of hardware, software, and business systems.
- Overseeing the monitoring of batch schedules and executing production batch jobs.
- Monitoring and maintaining servers, networks, storage systems, and cloud environments to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.
- Fostering collaborative relationships and processes with internal and external teams to identify and triage operational issues.
- Resolving incidents and job failures by following documented procedures and coordination of recovery activities with other support teams.
- Engaging vendors and support teams when necessary to ensure that incidents are resolved within SLA timeframes.
- Executing scheduled maintenance activities, as well as service, security and change requests.
- Documenting, tracking, and recording the incident and the entire problem-solving process, including all actions taken and decisions made—both successful and unsuccessful—through to final resolution.
- Communicating application incidents and issues to key stakeholders, including management and development teams.
- Mentoring and supporting junior team members, encouraging skill growth, and promoting knowledge sharing.
- Creating and interpreting technical documentation for training and end-user procedures.
You have:
- A College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science.
- 5 or more years of hands-on experience as a System Administrator or IT Infrastructure Administrator.
- A MCSE, MCSA or MS Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate certificate.
- Strong knowledge and experience with Red Hat Linux (RHEL), PowerShell scripting, Windows servers, Microsoft Azure and VMware.
- Proven experience with troubleshooting principles, methodologies, and issue-resolution techniques.
- Experience with technology change management processes and tools as well as change and problem management practices.
- Knowledge of the following tools or platforms: Control-M, Nagios, VM OpenView, Intermapper, AirWatch, BigFix, LDAP, AD and ServiceNow is an asset.
- VCA, ITIL Certification is an asset.
