Description:

As a Senior IT internal audit advisor, you assist with audits, inspections, and internal audits and help ensure the regularity of financial statements. You provide the organization with assurance on the level of control over operations, and you preserve and enhance operational control. You lead and influence development projects and complex, highly innovative strategic initiatives involving multiple sectors. You help develop and recommend strategic directions and business positions. Your initiatives require extensive knowledge of your field. You make recommendations on the planning and execution of operationally and conceptually complex projects and initiatives that require comprehensive analysis and understanding of the organization and line of business. Coordination is critical, so you interact with stakeholders working in a wide range of other fields. Interpersonal savvy is therefore essential. You serve as expert advisor and subject matter expert, as well as resource person and coach for senior management and decision-making bodies. More specifically, you will be required to:

  • Advise your partners and colleagues to help them position high risks, plan and develop action plans as well as monitor the plans’ execution. These activities tie in with business sectors’ critical cross-sector projects and strategic initiatives
  • Analyze and update policies, standards, models and programs to support business sectors with their projects and strategic initiatives
  • Identify the risks of technological impacts in the integration of business solutions, and ensure compliance with organizational guides and governance documents as well as market best practices
  • Ensure that architecture and implementation allow for the rollout of stable, up-to-date (non- obsolete) and scalable solutions
  • Advise and orient the process owner (payments, credit granting, etc.) by recommending technological alternatives that are aligned with market practices
  • Plan and carry out IT internal audits in compliance with the Desjardins Group Monitoring Office’s (DGMO) agile audit plan
  • Evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization’s activities to independently examine governance, control and risk management processes. Make recommendations on the quality of activities, as applicable
  • Present results to the managers responsible for audited activities
  • Represent your unit before senior management committees and decision-making bodies
  • Represent and negotiate on behalf of Desjardins and enter the organization into agreements with external partners and organizations.

What you bring to the table

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer engineering or in a related field
  • A minimum of eight years of relevant experience
  • Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
  • Professional designation or in the process of obtaining one: CISA, CIA or CISSP
  • Knowledge of French is require
  • Intermediate advanced/Advanced/Expert) proficiency of English, both oral and written due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients
  • Knowledge of internal control frameworks (COSO, ITIL, COBIT or other)
  • Knowledge of banking
  • Knowledge of telecommunications systems (router, hub, firewall, Cisco, Checkpoint, etc.)
  • Knowledge of database management systems (Oracle, SQL Server, Sybase, DB2, MSSQL, etc.).
